Description: Esoteric audio is a spinoff company of the Japanese owned TEAC Corporation. The Esoteric corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility began in the United States in 1987. Esoteric engineers made the best value cables in the world. The President of Esoteric Audio wrote a letter to the editors of Stereophile magazine in the late eighties/early 90's ripping them for promoting high end, overpriced audio cables. He explained what many people always suspected; audio cables can only improve performance to a finite degree and expensive cables were a money grab. He claimed the most any cable should cost is fifty bucks. I do remember at that time they were the only remaining American cable manufacturer and I became a happy customer. Today Esoteric no longer manufactures cable but they do manufacture high end audio gear. This listing is for one 3' Luminis cable from 1990. It is 18 gauge double shielded with solid center conductor, super flexible air cellular foam dielelectric, cell poly foam skin, a split center pin, and 24K gold plated brass connectors with fanned inputs. They are the only cables I trust not to rip the inputs out of the back of a Carver TFM amplifier and you folks who have owned one know what I am talking about. There is no better cable available near the price point of first generation Esoteric audio cables.
