Description: This is an original 1826 presentation box/container made by Duncan Phyfe from the original wood of the Seneca Chief, the first canal boat. The top looks to have been broken into thirds and is more noticeable on the inside. The bottom looks to have had tape on it. I am not going to attempt to remove the residue, and it is NOT sticky. The bottom appears to have had a break too, see bottom picture. You DO NOT want to put a medal in this container as it may be extremely difficult to remove it. There is a chip in the top wood lip below the E of THE in THE SENECA CHIEF that is about half of the lip, see picture. Measures 2 1/8" in diameter and 5/8" tall. Ships USA only. I do not send offers.
