The story of the "Greeny" is very mysterious, but there are few guitars with such a glorious story. The "Greeny" is one of the most iconic original Les Paul Standards ever made, and in addition to the guitar's fame, it is also characterized by its truly unique sound. Formerly owned by Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), it was later sold to Gary Moore, who used it for 30 years as Thin Lizzy and as a solo artist. Currently owned by Kirk Hammett, the "Greeny" has been played by three legendary guitarists. One of its distinctive sounds is the phase sound (reverse phase) that is produced when the toggle switch is in the center position because the magnet of the neck pickup is inverted. The newly released Epiphone Kirk Hammett "Greeny" 1959 Les Paul Standard was developed through close collaboration between Epiphone and Gibson Custom Shop. Inspired by the legendary original "Greeny" used by Kirk Hammett, it has the same distinctive specifications as the original. It is equipped with the same Gibson USA Greenybucker pickup as the USA model, and of course the neck pickup is inverted. The neck shape also uses the Custom Greeny Profile, and the reflector knob on the rear side, the "Spade" button, and the Grover pegs are faithfully reproduced to the original. And the headstock shape is particularly noteworthy. Finally, Gibson's original "openbook" headstock is being adopted in Epiphone's core models, and the Epiphone Kirk Hammett "Greeny" 1959 Les Paul Standard is the first model.
