Description: Emil Axel Krause, Danish (1871 - 1945) Painted in the late 19th C (18/8). Born and studied art in Copenhagen, Denmark, Krause came to the UK and is well known for his scenic water colors of the North of England and Scotland. He began painting in the southern counties and Wales gradually moving North first falling in love with the English Lakes and then Scotland. Now a much collected artist, he is represented in many major collections and has sold in well-known auction houses. The painting is in very good condition and should be cleaned. Please note that the first six (6) images is how the painting appears today. The additional images are what happened with a different exposure and may be what the painting may look like when cleaned. The frame measure 40 inches wide and 30 inches high - The painting measures 31 inches wide and 21 inches height. This frame needs to be restored. Some of the gesso has chipped off and it has faded over time and lost its brilliance and its luster. Shipping within the Continental United States is an additional $200.00.
