Description: This beautiful piece of art is a stunning example of vintage marquetry framed wood inlay. Created by Nelson in 1985, the artwork features a majestic elk design that is signed by the artist. The piece measures 9 3/4 inches in height and 6 3/4 inches in width. This marquetry piece is from the Hardwood Forestry Fund and ten trees were planted when this piece was created! The information on the back of the piece shows each type of wood used to create this beautiful work of art, where that wood was sourced, and where it is located on the piece itself. SIXTEEN different types of wood were used to create this marquetry art. There is some water damage visible on the back of the piece. On the front the water damage is SLIGHT and does not detract from the beauty of the piece. I included a close up photo of the front and back. Please check out the full photos to ensure that you are satisfied that the damage doesn't affect your decision to purchase.
