Description: "Stiefelhosen," or "boot pants," were worn by East Germany's various uniformed services as part of their parade uniform. This particular pair is from the Volkspolizei, or People's Police. They're made in an iconic (and horrid) blue-green color - exactly what you might expect to come from the Soviet Bloc in the 1980s. In good condition. No issues to note, and they may be totally unworn (although I have listed them as "used," since the production tag is gone). Size "G-48-1," which measures out to about a 35" waist. It's quite difficult to accurately describe the inseam, as these were meant to be worn inside tall boots, but that size would be appropriate for somebody roughly in the neighborhood of 6' height (give or take a couple inches). If you aren't familiar with the meaning behind the interior stamping, you have "MdI (Ministerrat des Innern, or Interior Ministry, which oversaw the police)," then "1850" as the factory code, and 1/Y which indicates that these were made in the first quarter of 1988. -------- I am a longtime collector of Cold War military equipment. However, as the need to pay for grad school looms on the horizon, I am now selling off a good portion of my collection. Follow me to see my latest listings, and grab some fascinating history (and other stuff) at great prices! I am a collector more than a salesman, and so I'm quite happy to do whatever I can to ensure that you get what you're looking for. I'm always happy to combine shipping! Unfortunately eBay makes that process difficult sometimes, but if you can't request an invoice, go ahead and buy what you want and I will refund the difference!
