Description: I have here a very early vintage rustic Primitive Document Box or Treasure Chest. Looks to be all original humpback hinged lid. Comes with original hardware. One handle on the side is missing and the front latch is missing the catch. The outside of this box is pretty rustic with some worn areas as noted in the photos. You will find some wear on the edges and bottom. On the inside of the lid is a Treasure map, that's very cool. It has sashes on each side so that the lid doesn't fall all the way back. It appears to be made out of a heavy duty cardboard of sorts with a leather like material on the outside.
