Description: Up for sale is a very rare Early Pennsylvania Lebannon Valley Brewing Company Wood Beer Crate, circa.1934-1959, probably from the 1934-1939 era when the 2 color red and black crest of the brewery was featured with the logo. After 1939 the logo only featured the black color. On the inside are faint traces of the red portions of the crest which can be found between the woods, "Beer Ale". A very rare surviving piece, it measures 16 3/4" long by 12 1/8" wide by 12 5/8" tall. Please see condition report above for a full condition disclosure and review the photos. (Lebannon, PA) Lebanon Valley Brewing Co. opened in 1934 and closed in 1959 it was open for 25 years. Items from breweries of this age tend to be more common and less valuable than some breweries. Early items can still be valuable as can rarer types of items. Breweries that started up right after Prohibition was repealed, up to around the 1950s are the last group that represent highly collectible and valuable Breweriana for the most part. The period after Prohibition was when cans became popular so some of the rarest and most desirable cans come from this period. For cans to be very valuable they need to be rare, and in very good condition in most cases. Lebanon Valley Brewing Co. was in an active brewing city. Lebanon, PA was listed as having 14 breweries, which is quite a few.
