Description: Early Creamware Pierced Compote This exquisite pierced creamware compote is unfortunately assembled and lid does not quite fit to base. Base is marked "Leeds Pottery". Lid is phenomenal and probably Wedgwood with the rose finial with separate petals. Both date late 18th Century. The lid rim could be easily ground down so it would fit properly but the pieces are not original to each other. Approx. 8 1/2"H X 9"W. Provenance: Prominent Private Collection Condition: Handle restored, mismatched top and bottom, Minor chip to one flower petal and cracked area to lid, chip to underside rim of lid, other minor imperfections to be expected. I will be listing a fine collection of Creamware so please keep watching. Terms of Sale Please review photos closely. I try and represent items as accurately as possible. Paypal is preferred.
