Description: Early Cabinet Photo maybe Hell's Acre 1 Room School c1890 Harrison Co Berry KY ?the frame was destroyed but this note was taped on back "1 room school house, Berry K.Y. Original photo about 1890, Johnson County, near Cynthiana". I was contacted by the President of the Harrison County Historical Society who shared this information below: "the previous owner posted it as well and I shared it on my Cynthiana / Harrison County historical FB page and while the consensus is that it is Hell's Acre's One Room School, there does seem to be debate over whether the picture is original or not. The school does go back to the 1890's, but the coloration of the picture does not give that effect." Holding the cabinet card photo in hand it does appear to be original and quite old. The cardboard mat is thin and chipping which is consistent with many of the early ones I have bought and sold. The sepia photo has the color I would expect for this lesser quality era cabinet card. However, please look at the photos. I have taken lots of close up shots so that the buyer can make their own decision.
