Description: We are listing this ONE darling, 14" tall, EARLY, ALABAMA Indestructible BABY doll, c.1919, by Ella Gant Smith of Roanoke, Alabama (1868-1932) and differentiated by her stitiched-in seam across the top of her head and molded ears. She has pretty blue painted eyes, eyelashes and very sweet, closed mouth, cheek blush, brown painted hair (Kathe Kruse-style) with oil painted surface extending to just below the shoulders, oil painted legs with rose color, single strap shoes with button closures/socks (toe paint shows normal wear), sturdy cloth-stuffed body with jointed legs and arms with mitt-type hands with individually stitched (worn) fingers. She wears her original, charming, printed cotton romper. Good overall condition with light wear that is consistent with age and no repaint. Charming, early example in an adorable size, she has general wear as noted. Other Alabama Baby, Rollinson and Philadelphia dolls are NOT included as each is being listed separately. If there is a particular doll that you might want listed, please let us know and we'll do our very best to list her quickly for you. Please note: nearly all of our items are antique or vintage (usually with some signs of wear due to usage and previous storage). We do our very best to describe and photograph them for you and do not repair, restring, repaint or enhance them in any way as most collectors prefer to find them in their original state.
