Description: Outstanding oval-shaped photograph ≈5X3-3/8", dark gray mount shows woman in blouse and boy in sailor suit, excellent condition, Photographer unknown excellent condition Item 484589 ◊ Turn of the Century Cabinet Card Photograph of Mother and Son A rare and original, "Turn of the Century Cabinet Card Photograph of Mother and Son." This outstanding, period photograph measures approx. 5" X 3-3/8 " (24.4 cm X 15 cm.) It and is mounted on its original Card Mount, which measures approx. 8-1/2" X 6 " (16.4 cm X 10.6 cm.) In addition to the type of mount (dark gray with an oval shaped photo,) a couple additional things tell us it dates from the early 1900's. The first is the woman's hair style and blouse with a ivory pin at the neck. In addition, the boy is wearing clothing that imitates what sailors wore at that time. Also the two people in the photo actually show a bit of expression not seen in earlier photos. This fascinating "Turn of the Century Cabinet Card Photograph" is in excellent condition; no fading, edge-wear or surface wear. The corners have very mild damage, possibly from being in a frame or a scrap book. The back shows now signs of glue or scrapbook attachments.
