These pinbacks were cigarette company promotional premium giveaways. I have dozens of different pinbacks listed, adding more when I can. I am open to reasonable offers for multiple pieces. Back of button is litho printed “FACTORY NO. 30, 2ND DISTRICT NEW YORK”. CONDITION: Preowned, it shows wear and patina, graphics and lettering is still clear, but has fading. See pictures for condition accuracy and verification. APPROXIMATE SIZE: 1-1/4 inches in diameter. ORIGINATION: This button comes from my mother’s amassed collection of pinbacks. She collected them in the 1990s, getting them through mail-catalog auctions (Hakes). Circa 1910, these buttons were giveaways from the issuing cigarette companies. There are 48 different known variations in this particular 1-1/4 inch series of pinbacks. Contributing artists include Harry “Bud” Fisher (known for the popular “Mutt and Jeff” comics of yesteryear), “TAD” (Thomas Aloysius Dorgan) and R.L. “Rube” Goldberg.
