Description: A one-of-a-kind Don the Beachcomber tribute collage framed in a hand-carved tribal sculpture. This is a striking piece and certainly the only one you’ll come across. This has been lovingly assembled, beginning with the impressive, three-figure carved frame. What would have originally housed a mirror or picture now has four authentic Don the Beachcomber souvenirs: an original 1941 postcard and a coaster, double-sided print matches and stir stick from the closed Huntington Beach location (shuttered in 2018). The overall sculpture measures 18” x 18”. Each of the souvenirs has been carefully mounted with archival, acid-free paper behind the coaster, postcard and matches to preserve them. The backdrop is a heavy vinyl tropical motif that each item is mounted to. Everything can be disassembled, so the artifacts have not been affected in any way. Condition on all of the items is excellent. The sculpture is in very good vintage condition. You will see some fissures, but those are in the “mud” used to connect the wood pieces, everything is structurally very sturdy and sound. The base of the sculpture has a warp to it, but sits evenly when placed on your shelf for display.
