Description: DOD On-Site Inspection Agency Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. Agency was established in 1988 for monitoring compliance with the INF (Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty . Signed by President Ronald Reagan and Soviet Union General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev, the agency was responsible for helping de-escalate the Cold War. The agency was eventually disbanded, now leading to an increased scarcity in the medals. All Militaria items are from my Grandfathers Estate. He was a large collector of Militaria primarily around the WWI - WWII era, having thousands of items including numerous rare Medals, Pins, and Patches. He created and ran a small Museum in the 70’s & 80’s and was a member of multiple organizations such as the Association of American Military Uniform Collectors, The Company of Military Historians, as well as The Orders and Medals Research Society. Many of these items were on display prior to him moving and storing them in his personal collection. I personally inspect every item for authenticity, including inspection with a UV Light as well as close examination with a Jewelers loop, and have no doubts on the authenticity of all items unless otherwise noted in the description. ALL patches listed will have no UV glow to them unless explicitly noted in the description.
