Description: Up for sale is a vintage toy called "Big Boat & Cars" from Discovery Toys. It was made in the U.S.A. and was item #245 in the Discovery Toy catalog in 1985. The toy consists of a large plastic boat that can be used on 'land and sea' as it has wheels on the underside but can also float in water. Each end of the boat has a section that lifts up to allow the positioning of a ramp to load the car, jeep and truck onto the boat. There is also a helicopter than can ride on the boat. Wonderful toy for creative play! It is complete and all the items are in excellent condition as they were used only as my demo item. MANY years ago I sold Discovery Toys (1983-1986) and this was one of the items in their catalog (#245). The box is somewhat battered both from taking the various pieces in and out at parties and because it is made of very lightweight cardboard and the contents (cars, boat, ramp, etc.) which are sturdy plastic in construction, move about inside and cause creases and tears to the box. NOTE: I cannot find any record of another listing of this item so it may be somewhat rare. Condition Issues: Box is taped on one end and torn on the opposite end, made of lightweight cardboard and definitely showing wear. Please see photos. Questions?
