There are some scratches in the leather like exterior, but the springs are all tight and leave that wonderful "whoosh" noise when closing. Measurements -- longest: 6.4", tallest point: 2". I do not recommend this for super wide or super curved glasses or sunglasses... they won't fit. These are best for a flatter curve and normal width glasses. Measure against a current case if this is a concern. We tried wrap style sunglasses and they would not fit in this. Regular eye glasses had no problem at all.
