Description: “Die Kriegsmarine erobert Norwegens Fjorde” book w/ Wartime Dedication by Kapitän zur See and Knight’s Cross recipient, Hans Otto Erdmenger, in July, 1941. The dedication begins, “With much appreciation for all of your help…”. Erdmenger signed while a Korvettenkapitän w/ a notation “1939/40 Kommandant Zerst. Wilh. Heidkamp". Reference is to the German Destroyer Z21 “Wilhelm Heidkamp”. Erdmenger died on December 28, 1943 (Battle of the Bay of Biscay) while aboard the German 1936a class Destroyer Z27 (“Narvik Class”), after attacks by the British Cruisers HMS Glasgow and HMS Enterprise. The book and dust cover are in poor condition. There are stains, spotting throughout, issues with the spine and binding, yellow pages, writing and numerous other imperfections.
