Description: Images one and two show a mature seed grown specimen colony growing in an 8"/20 cm bulb pan in my California collection and plants in nature in Caribbean foothill rainforest in Panamá. All plants offered are greenhouse grown on benches in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Last pair of images show the plant offered for sale, a seed grown, well established young flowering sized individual 5"/12 cm across in a 3"/7.5 cm pot. Plant is being grown in a mineral substrate. Dicranopygium microbullatum is a recently described (Hammel, 2022) dwarf cyclanth that is narrowly endemic to central Panamá. I have been propagating this species for almost two decades and most (all?) plants in cultivation are derived from my original accessions from the mid-2000s. A rheophytic lowland rainforest inhabitant, it is surprisingly easy to grow under warm, wet, and shady conditions. Use low mineral water to minimize risk of brown-tipping. Great plant for terraria or vivaria, and max out at about 6"/15 cm across the leaf tips. Shipping: Plants will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail with tracking number for physical addresses within three working days of receipt of payment, weather permitting. 72 hour heat packs are available for an additional nominal charge. Wherever possible, plants will be shipped in plastic pots. If bare-rooting is required for shipment to your state, please advise when auction is completed.
