Description: Greetings. Offered for sale is the original artwork for what appears to be two (2) pilot or try-out comic strips featuring a mystery/detective theme by Richard "Sparky" Moore (1925-2016). Description:-Art Type: Daily comic strips (2) original artwork.-Medium: Pen and ink over pencil/graphite on Disney art board.-Publisher: Unpublished (?)-Publication Date: N/A -Dimensions: The smaller strip is 16" wide by 5" tall and the larger is 17" wide by 7" tall (board dimensions; image areas slightly smaller)-Signed: Yes. One of the strips is signed "6/15/90 Sparky Moore". The other is unsigned. -Description: This is the original artwork for what looks to be pilot or try-out comic strips by Richard "Sparky" Moore. Moore enjoyed a lengthy career drawing comic books (Western Publishing and Disney [where he drew numerous comic books and strips featuring animated film adaptations]) and also worked in animation. These two strips feature some very strong artwork with a variety of characters and illustration styles. The larger strip features characters from what looks to be a planned/proposed detective/mystery strip. The first panel features a caption, "Detective? Maybe British?" The second panel features a man ("Watson") leaning over a seated man and features the caption "The Clue". The third panel features two British policemen and an intoxicated woman (captioned "Arresting Drunken Lady"). This strip is unsigned and undated. The smaller strip also features three panels with a caption "Comic Styles Explored". This strip, which features some gorgeous panel design and inking, is signed by Moore and dated. The first panel features a bored looking man with his female companion who certainly looks excited to be getting a drink. The second panel is set at night and features a running man with a car approaching (this is just a killer panel). The third features an exotic looking woman (she has a Spanish-feel about her) with a heavy scarf and a very intricate design in the background. Moore really gave his artistic skills a good stretching in these strips. Condition: -The art is in excellent overall condition. Minor age/handling wear. Pencil notes to reverse.
