The original gloves came into contact with something that made them start disintegrating...claws have been removed and have the back padding peeled away as shown. The claws can be re-screwed onto replacement gloves (two of the screws have some stripping but can still be tightened down with effort or can be replaced) and then the padding will have to be glued back in place. Claws have a few scratches as shown. See photos**.
