The 40mm (1 9/16") deep jaw has a series of ridges giving the jaw immense holding power. These given dimensions are when the jaws form a true circle and offer the best grip. However, the amount of movement available offers a range of 57mm (2 1/4") to 72mm (2 13/16") internal and 77mm (3") to 93mm (3 11/16") external.
