The actual date and location is marked on each slide, as is the name of the photographer, if known. Slides are shipped in a cardboard CD mailer or a large envelope. Although more costly to mail, this provides superior protection to your slide(s) than a standard paper envelope. CD mailers are nonmachinable at the Post Office and this should solve the problem of bent slides and torn envelopes with slides falling out that we have all received at one time or another.
