Description: Featured here is a Royal Krona mid-century crystal Koala made and signed by Folke Walving of Maleras, Sweden. Perhaps one of the more rare but notable crystal figurines, the Koala was made in the 1960s as an example of minimalist Swedish design. Folke Walving is one of the most famous names of crystal in Sweden, along with Kosta Boda, and this example is a perfect representation. Many polar bears were made, but an Australian animal was quite exotic for the Swedes. It is in wonderful condition, there is a small tool mark on its belly from manufacturing, but it is barely noticeable. There is some mild shelf wear as well. See pictures for closer detail.
