Description: Creaform Handyscan 3D REVscan scanner with HP EliteBook Laptop: The scanner has two or three cameras, (its eyes) and a laser that projects a cross which sweeps the surface of the object. The cameras record 18,000 stereo images per second, calculating feature distances from the laser cross for every image. Using that data, the supplied software creates a computer file mesh composed of thousands of sub-millimetre triangles which reproduces the form of the scanned object. The image created by the mesh is displayed on-screen for the user to verify accurate completion of the scan in real time. Once the scan is completed, the generated .stl file is ready for post processing in various CAD programs for dimensional comparison to solid models, FEA analysis or reverse engineering (.iges & .stp files). The output may also be fed directly into stereo lithography equipment to produce real 3D models that you can hold in your hand. This truly portable scanner weighs only 1.3 kg (3 lbs) allowing you to take it to the object being scanned rather than needing to bring the object to it. This makes the entire process fast and extremely user friendly.
