Counterpoint Sa-12 Power Amplifier, High-End Audio Recapped and serviced

Description: Vintage 1980's Counterpoint SA-12 dual channel Tube/MosFET high end Power Amplifier, 80 WPCThis is a classic high end power amplifier designed by Michael Elliott. Set up properly and broken in this sounds pretty magical. Very smooth and tube like while detailed and with great soundstage and imaging. Image depth and instrument separation is sometimes jaw dropping. YMMV, but if this had a bit more power for my very power hungry magnepans I would never sell it. This has been almost completely Recapped except the four main filter caps which tested fine and the "Wondercaps" which measured perfect. Even the small low voltage section and large high voltage section WIMA's were replaced with higher rated, higher performance caps. Both protection relays were replaced, bridge rectifiers replaced, and all mainboard filter caps were replaced. Bias and DC offset were set. If you are interested in tube rolling, this Amplifier uses 6DJ8/ECC88/6922 tubes Will be well packaged to survive shipment. Due to the nature of vintage gear, especially tube gear, no returns will be accepted. There are a number of scratches on the unit, but it looks very good overall.
