Description: Correspondence Between the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR and POB#55201 TITLE: Correspondence Between the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR and the Presidents of the USA and the Prime Ministers of Grest Britain During the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, Volume Two AUTHOR: Joseph Stalin; Winston Churchill; C R Attlee; Franklin D Roosevelt; Harry S Truman PUBLISHER: Moscow: Foreign Languages Publishing House DATE: 1957 EDITION: 0 DESCRIPTION: v. 1. 401, [3], introduction, notes, colophon in cyrillic. v. 2. 301, [3], introduction, notes, colophon in cyrillic. Volume 1 contains UK Correspondence with Winston S. Churchill and Clement K. Attlee (July 1941-November 1945) -- v. 2. 301, [3], introduction, notes, colophon in cyrillic. Volume 2 contains USA Correspondence with Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman (August 1941-December 1945). While the letters themselves seem to be lightly edited and complete, the introduction and notes make it clear that the official organ of Soviet historical interpretation will not allow neutral commentary. The Stalinist revisionist history of the Great Patriotic War edited out virtually all Allied assistance in arms and cash. The present Kruschev era volume corrects the record in areas of obvious fact, but continues to opine pugilistically on a wide variety of topics. The heights of the Cold War have clearly been reached in 1957. CONDITION NOTES: VERY GOOD. Excellent page and cover attachment. Gilt titling on cover and spine of Volume 1 darkened, and a spot of soiling to back. Volume 2 brighter. Corners bumped. Pages bright without tears, marks, or creases. NOTES: 0 BINDING: Full green cloth, gilt and blind tooled front covers, spine with gilt stamped rules and volume numbers but no titles. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
