Description: Up for auction is a gently used professional Conn Elkhart 73H dual dependent rotor valve bass trombone. All slides and valves move freely. The hand slide action is smooth and the inner hand slide tubes have no worn through plating. There are no major dents present and several minor dents do not affect performance. Some discoloration is visible on the bell section, slide receiver area, outer handslide tubes and slides. This bass trombone has scratches throughout from normal use and the lacquer wear is minimal with approximately 90% of the lacquer is intact. The matching hand slide serial numbers are in the N45,xxx range which dates the year of manufacture to approximately 1970. The bore is .562" and the bell diameter is 9-1/2". This bass trombone should be professional cleaned upon delivery. Included is a somewhat worn and used Conn wood shell bass trombone case(latches function as intended, interior is intact with no strong odors, storage compartment lid/snap catches, exterior has visible wear, handle is fine). No mouthpiece is included and the pictures provided are considered as part of the description. The difference with the 62H is that the 73H has a regular brass bell as opposed to the 62H's red brass bell, and the 73H has the main tuning slide in the bell, whereas the 62H's main tuning slide is in the slide. The 73H has the same #5 (0.562") bore as the 62H. Like the 62H, it was produced from at least 1968 to 1972, and was probably discontinued sometime between 1973 and 1980.
