Collectable Royal Doulton Figurine 'The Old Balloon Seller, HN1315. 1943Vintage

Description: Item under consideration is a Collectable, vintage, porcelain, hand painted , 7 3/4 inch tall, ROYAL DOULTON figurine titled “OLD BALLON SELLER”, HN1315, made in England in 1943. The figurine consist of a seated female street vendor wearing a white apron, green skirt, black hat with flowers on the brim, a maroon shirt with a black bow at the neck and a fringed green shawl across her shoulders. She is holding a bunch of colorful balloons in her right hand and there is a woven basket by her right side.The figurine was in production from 1929 through 1998 (69 years). During the early years of production the artist would add their initial and the year of production to the figurine’s bottom. This special figurine has the unique markings that make it a desired collectable. The letter “F” and number “14” are affixed to the bottom of the figurine by the artist.The F represents the artist’s initial and the 14 represents the 14th year of production (1943).The Royal Doulton stamp is also present on the bottom of the figurine. The figurine was designed by Leslie Harradine in the late 1920s, and is the best known figurine in Royal Doulton's street vender series of figurines. A book price of $250 is listed for this figurine in Challton Standard Catalogue by Jean Dale. Dimensions: Height- 7 3/4 inch. Width- 6 inch. Depth- 4 1/4 inch. Weight- 1 pound, 6.2 ounces.
