On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of the great composer Claude Debussy, Deutsche Grammophon is releasing a series of releases, the centrepiece of which is this strictly limited edition of his complete works on 22 CDs and 2 DVDs.In addition to renowned Debussy interpreters such as Maurizio Pollini, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Pierre Boulez, Charles Dutoit and Daniel Barenboim, this edition also includes up-and-coming stars such as Rafal Blechacz and Seong-Jin Cho. In addition, there are three additional CDs containing special historical recordings by Friedrich Gulda, Monique Haas and Sviatoslav Richter, among others, which enable comparative listening. The two DVDs contain a complete recording of Pelléas et Mélisande conducted by Pierre Boulez. The edition is accompanied by a 200-page booklet which, in addition to the libretti, contains detailed information on the repertoire as well as two insightful essays on the artist Debussy and his musical language.
