Map identifies numerous railroads, and tracks the movement of the Union and Confederate Armies through the region. As always, with very narrow blank margins due to the size of the printed plate. In attractive well preserved condition; edges toned, minor light surface age wear and overall gently uniform paper toning as typical. Overall the printed area is clean, well preserved and very attractive. Original fold line as issued. Sheet measures c. 18" x 26 1/2". Engraved area measures c. 17 1/2" x 25 1/2". [R35265]. Tooley's Dictionary of Mapmakers, v. 2, p. 443, noting the succession of the firm's imprints, this one only occurring after 1866.
