Description: Civil War era CDV handsome man w faraway expression, grizzled beard, vignette This man seems lost in thought as he looks past the photographer. He wears a dark suit and white shirt. His hair is combed neatly, and his salt & pepper beard covers the bow of his tie. There is no ID and no backmark. Card measures about 4 x 2.375 inches. Image measures 3.75 x 2.125 inches. Portrait vignette measures 1.5 x 1.25 inch. Slight yellowing to image. Light soiling to image and card. My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
