If you are related to, or know someone who is an LEO; this would probably be a REALLY useful gift for them. Go ahead; the next time you see them, ask how much of a pain in the butt it is to write a tag or citation freehand away from their car without a clipboard! It's one of the most aggravating exercises and might be the root of most "angry cop" encounters. All joking aside...it really is a major pain. So, I introduce to you; a citation or tag book sized clipboard. I'm not sure about every citation book used in the nation, or world wide; but I would expect this to fit the most common sized citation books out there. Its useful for the "Carbon Copy" type citations where you have to press hard, and not want to imprint your words from one side of the tag to the other. Variations:I offer different variations of this clipboard; and here's an explanation of each: Aluminum. This version is about as thick as 7 pages of copy paper. Its about as thick as a "thin" or cheaper aluminum clip board. Its also about as rigid as one too. Because of the dimensions of citation books, the leverage doesn't stress this board all that much. You can comfortably use it without bending or flexing it. Due to its thinness; it slides right into a tag and you can leave it there for the next time you use it. Just grab the tag book and go; and know you'll always be ready for action. The "Pro"s for this version is that:1. Its the cheapest2. Its the thinnest3. Fairly light weight4. Its "Good enough". Greatly improves writability and is more than adequate for the needs of most people.5. It bends and probably won't snap during a scuffle. If you bend it; you can easily bend it back.6. Engravable. The "Con"s for this version:1. It bends. If you keep it in your rear pocket while you drive a car; ride a motorcycle, or ride an ATV.....it'll bend. Of course, you can always bend it back; but I don't know if it'll have a crease or not. Also, after bending back and forth a couple hundred times, I'm sure it'll start to crack or break. So keep that in mind. If it spends most of its life in a box or bag on the passenger seat; this version should work just fine for you. Carbon Fiber! This version is about as thick as 8 pages of copy paper. Its slightly thicker than the thin aluminum one, but not by much. This version is more rigid than the aluminum one and is about as stout as your typical plastic clipboard. Carbon fiber also has the benefit of being very light. Due to its weight and its thinness; it slides right into a tag and you can leave it there for the next time you use it. Just grab the tag book and go; and know you'll always be ready for action.The "Pro"s for this version is that:1. Its the lightest2. It's more rigid than the aluminum version.3. It flexes and bends, but retains its shape. If you ride a motorcycle or ATV and keep your book in your back pocket; this will handle the job. I kept it in my back pocket a whole night while driving around and it bends with the natural curve of my body; however did not crack or break. At the end of the night, it was still very flat and straight.4. Its carbon fiber ... so that means its extra cool, right?5. Makes for a really big "Wow, thank you for the gift honey!" The "Con"s for this version:1. Its expensive. Honestly, I'm doing my best to keep the cost down and reasonable. However, the cost is still pretty high. Unfortunately, carbon fiber is just plain expensive; even before I cut it down to size!
