Description: Description Christopher Hogwood Beethoven Nine Symphonies 5 CD TOWER RECORDS JAPANProduct introduction Hogwood 80th Anniversary Edition. The monumental recording that led the performance of ancient musical instruments is reproduced for the first time in about 30 years. An epoch-making Beethoven performance that revives in the present age.The commentary at the time of the first appearance is also reproduced. With new preface commentaryHogwood, who has been recording on the Owazoreel label focusing on Mozart's complete symphonies that started recording in the latter half of the 1970s, Bach and Handel after that, and songs after the late baroque, has been fully prepared since 1983. The complete collection of Beethoven's symphonies recorded over 1989 is reissued on the domestic version for the first time in about 30 years. 2021 is the 80th anniversary of Hogwood's birth and 7 years after his death. At the time of recording, it was at the same time as the characteristic topic boards such as Brüchen and Norrington, so it may seem that the achievements are not fully recognized in modern times, but the ancient chamber orchestra of the period instrument that I formed myself. At the same time, this Beethoven was an innovative recording with innovative ideas such as the addition of fortepiano in the early symphonies and the adoption of some original versions. Unlike other ancient orchestras, Hogwood's interpretation is full of inquisitiveness, although there is little pursuit including stoic performances. Hogwood's special mention is not extreme but accurate interpretation, and despite being quite aggressive in content, the frontage to enter the music is wide, and in a sense pioneering activity even if you think about it now. You may notice that Hogwood was doing this. In addition, the list of all members who participated in the recording is reprinted for each song in this manual. The manufacturer name and year of manufacture are clearly stated on the instruments used by each person, and the material value is high, but the numbers 7-9 are historically coded, or all wind instruments and timpani. There is also a surprising point in its practicality, such as playing with a double tube. Nowadays, the interpretation of Beethoven has deepened since the time of recording, and we are familiar with the performances of Lot, Kurrenzis, Cassado, etc. If you listen to Hogwood's performance after experiencing those performances, you will never think that it is one of the performances in the past. I think we can now understand that this performance is still alive today. Hogwood has achieved that great achievement.-The response is that the players who have become accustomed to playing baroque and Mozart are surprised and react to Beethoven's unusual writing style. (Omitted) AAM's performance conveys the sincerity of returning to the same "origin" as the musicians of that time. Whether it is historically correct is no longer an issue. Rather, this performance sounds as a warning to our audience, who expects competition for individuality and escalation of expression. Through the performances of Hogwood and others, our audience also repeats and "returns to the origin." ~ From this preface commentary by Takaki YazawaThis time, including the commentary by Mr. Akira Hirano at the time of the first appearance, a new commentary by Mr. Takaki Yazawa is also posted in the preface. This 40-page manual is a must read. In addition, each jacket design at the time of single sale is also posted in color in the manual and others.Work informationPerformer: Christopher Hogwood (conductor, fortepiano)Orchestra: Ancient Chamber OrchestraChorus: London Symphony ChorusSoprano: Arleen AugerMezzo-soprano: Catherine RobbinTenor: Anthony Rolfe JohnsonBus: Gregory ReinhartComposer: Ludwig van BeethovenContentsNumber of components | 5 sheetsTrack ListingLudwig van Beethoven: Complete Symphonies, etc.
