I could not put these down as the games are instructional as well as entertaining and the biographical stories and love put into the text really make me feel I knew the guy ! On top of all that, these books have revived my energy and desire to get back to playing in tournaments, something that's been lacking this year !! When you see a top, talented player getting bumps and bruises, it reminds one of what real chess is (and how crazy-good Magnus is). I do have a couple complaints, though: 1) Almost none of his losing games, 2) soooo many typos--move numbers wrong in comments were particularly confusing at times and some other typo that I can't remember. *****NOTE**** I see others' listing the same title "Forgotten Genius Dragoljub Velimirovic" as a SINGLE volume (red background, sketched picture) using the SAME ISBN but a book of 650 pages, edition named "New Edition" seem to be offered from sellers outside the US. The two volumes on offer (tan covers) do total about 650 pages so it appears the one-volume edition is probably the 2 books in one. With corrections ? Ask before you buy! Anywho.....On offer are 2-volumes of selected games spanning Velimirovic's career, well-analyzed and plenty of useful explanation and background biographies, stories, pictures, and personal remembrances (he died in 2014). Also interesting is that Ana is his daughter, so family stories included. Figurine algebraic notation. Index of openings, players, typical sacrifices. 650 total pages Come back often as I am liquidating a large book collection. I do refund shipping to match actual cost when you buy multiple books.
