If I hear garbling or dragging, I throw them away. 2) Tapes are visibly in nice condition; they don't have lines or streaks running through them, they aren't grubby or rusty in the tape cavity, and their tiny foam guide is not missing or loose. 3) I spend fifty cents for a new case on each one. 4) When I package them, there's a small piece of bubble wrap inside the edge of the tape case to prevent their shifting, the tape itself is wrapped in bubble and secured between two cardboard pieces, and the exterior of the package is clearly-labeled and tamper-proof. 5) I ship daily!
