It didn't have dual card slots, 4K video was limited to 30 frames per second, and there was no in-body image stabilization. Canon's answer? The EOS R6. This ultra-capable mirrorless camera includes all of these features, along with a number of other upgrades over the EOS R, like a faster image processor and improved autofocusing system. Enjoy shake-free photos and videos The feature I was most excited about with the R6 is its all-new five-axis in-body image stabilization system — the first of its kind for Canon. It lets you take photos in low-light environments at slow shutter speeds, a situation where slight movements of your hands would normally affect your image quality. The image stabilization system is particularly helpful when recording handheld video. You'll capture super-smooth footage without the "jumping" effect that non-stabilized cameras can produce. The R6 features a rotating, high-resolution LCD color touchscreen. This kit includes a sweet, all-purpose RF lens One of the best reasons to consider the R6 is Canon's magnificent lineup of matching RF lenses. To make getting started with your new camera easy, this kit includes an RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM lens. I adore this focal length for its versatility. Take stunning portraits at 105mm, or zoom out to photograph expansive landscapes at 24mm. This lens can also capture superb video, thanks to built-in image stabilization and a quiet autofocus motor. Compatible with your existing Canon glass If you already own Canon EF or EF-S lenses, good news: you can use them with the R5. That's huge, since for many of us, our investment into can well outweigh the cost of a camera itself. Use one of Canon's EOS mount adapters to attach your existing glass to the EOS R5, and capture ultra-high-quality images and videos with your new camera. Should you go with the EOS R5 kit instead? Canon introduced the R6 and the R5 at the same time, offering two compelling options for photographers and videographers. So which of these cameras is right for you? There are two main differences between them. The first is that the R5 records photographs at a much higher resolution (45 megapixels versus 20.1 for the R6). If you do significant cropping during post-processing, or if you're planning on making extra-large prints, the R5 is worth considering solely for its larger file sizes. The other main difference is in video recording. The R5 records 4K at up to 120 frames per second (and can even do 8K at 30fps). The R6 can record in 4K, but is "limited" to 60fps. If you're planning on doing ultra-cinematic film making with your new camera, the R5 is a more compelling choice. Both models use the same in-body image stabilization, feature the same advanced autofocus system, and have the same new DIGIC X image processor. Whichever way you go, I think you'll love the quality of the photos and videos you create.
