Description: Camellia sinensis is the Tea Camellia which is regularly used for tea making. We grew these from seeds from our own tea Camellias. They make great evergreen shrubs. They have numerous small white flowers in fall which are loved by pollinators. Here in North Carolina they seem to grow best in partial shade like many broad leaf evergreens. They are not picky about soil and are not bothered by many insect pests. Young plants can get nibbled on by rabbits or deer, this seems to decline as the plant gets larger. These should be hardy to at least zone 7b. We ship USPS Priority mail, with the rootball well wrapped but without the container.
