Description: DIMENSIONS: Case: 17" x 4 1/2" x 2 1/2". Total weight: 3 lbs. DESCRIPTION: Vintage intermediate flute. By GEMEINHARDT, ELKHART, INDIANA. Model 3SB. Solid sterling silver headjoint, body and footjoint with silver plated mechanism. Open hole keys with removable hole plugs. B footjoint. Gold-plated lip plate. Includes original Gemeinhardt plush lined hard plastic case and Gemeinhardt vinyl outer soft case. Flute markings: "Gemeinhardt - Elkhart, Ind. - 3SB - 647770" along with Gemeinhardt trademark; all 3 pieces marked "Solid Silver". 1988-89. USA. More pictures available on request. NOTE: I do not play the flute and I am unable to comment on how this instrument plays. All of my comments concerning condition are based on visual inspection only. Generally this instrument seems to have been maintained in playable condition and I see no signs of mistreatment or abuse. COSMETIC CONDITION: The instrument is in excellent cosmetic condition. No damage. No significant wear. No repairs. Condition is consistent with gentle use and handling. Notice that one of the removable hole plugs is absent. There are no other missing elements. No dings or dents. No bends, breaks, splits, cracks, gouges. No tool marks. No significant scratches or rubs. All keys move freely with no issues. No damaged springs. I detect no damage or significant wear to corks or key pads. Very light typical use-related wear: scattered fine / superficial scratches and rubs; light age-related oxidation. Nothing at all significant or conspicuous. CASES: The cases are in excellent original condition. No damage and no significant wear. Clean as found, inside and out. From a smoke free home. Latches, hinges and zipper are all functional with no issues.
