c. 1915 No. 131-6 MOSTIQUE by Roseville TAN Bowl / Planter

Description: Thank you for looking at my auction and hope you enjoy what is being offered for sale. We search estate sales, auctions, garage sales and pick in search of items to bring to you. The Roseville pottery company introduced the Mostique line between 1915 and 1916. This line is probably the most recognizable next to the Pinecone line. There is approximately 80 style in the Mostique line. Usually they are crudely stylized leaf and floral patterns often in spade shapes with alternating heavy lines and geometric forms. The bodies are a textured gray or tan and most pieces are unmarked. This Mostique bowl is glazed in tan with dots and unique line configurations. The flower is very reminiscent of a buttercup. This is a wonderful example from the arts and crafts period. Measures: 2 11/16” H x 6 5/8” W x 4 7/8” W opening Great used condition for its age.
