Description: This is a muesum replica of what I believe is a Byzantine era bronze resting Shoebill stork. I believe this was produced by the Benaki Museum in Greece, probably in late 70's or early 80's and is a copy of the original that was once held in their collection. It's is not in their current or recent collections, and I can't find any other copies It is made of either brass or bronze. It has a Benaki Museum hallmark that appears worn. It is small, measuring 2.43 inches high. The base is about 1.3 inches x 1.3 inches and weighs 4.4 ounces. Very strange looking. Thanks for looking!
