Description: The Burundi 5,000 Francs Banknote was issued by the Bank of the Republic of Burundi in 2018. The light blue banknote bears French and Kirundi texts. Its obverse features a cape buffalo, the coat of arms of Burundi, dancers with drums on their heads, a shield, and a green-to-gold OVI basket with an embossed BRB. The reverse depicts a map outline of Burundi, a man walking on the road through a forested mountain, a fish, and the bank logo. The note contains a pearlescent stripe on the front with a vertical 5000, a pearlescent overprint on the back with a flag and 5000 / BRB, and a registration device in the form of a fish. It also contains a windowed security thread with demetalilzed head of heifer, stars, and BRB. Its watermark reveals Melchior Ndadaye and an electrotype BRB. The banknote is 138 x 69 mm in size and signed by Jean Gaspard Ciza and Melchior Wagara. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
