Description: Rare, original "Reference Acetate" / "Dub Plate", or more accurately, a UNIQUE, probably "one-off" "Radio Transcription" recording of an on-air radio show from February 5th, 1947. This disc has Part One b/w Part Three, and you can hear samples of each side at the bottom of the "Description" below. This show includes singing by the host Buffalo Bob Smith who soon after became host of the children's show Howdy Doody, weather forecasts for NYC boroughs, specifically Brooklyn and Queens and The Kingsmen sing on the Part Three side ... and that's probably a record being played in-studio. The labels have a line across the middle that has less age-staining than the rest of the label. The "stock" label information is printed, and the specifics of this item are TYPED on each label. We play-graded each side from beginning to end, and there are no skips, but there's surface hiss which you can judge for yourself by listening to our sound clips. This is an AMAZING window into an era and a slice of forgotten time in a radio broadcast that's probably impossible to find, and probably was never released, except on the night the show was aired. This item will be securely packed with protective filler pads in a tightly taped LP mailer box.You can hear samples taken from this acetate by clicking the player below. We used an LP stylus, so the sound will be better using a 78 rpm stylus.
