A gold National Book Award sticker is affixed to front panel. In black boards with gold lettering (first printing had blue boards). 380 pages + Acknowledgements, Notes & Index (58 pages) Condition: VERY GOOD/GOODThe book is in VERY GOOD condition - solidly bound with firm hinges and joints. Heavily rubbed top and bottom edges, spine tips and corners. Interior is clean and free of writing, marks, ex libris marks or stickers. Several dozen pages toward the end show light corner creases. The unclipped dust jacket is in Good collectible condition - Rubbing, chipped edges and tears, sun-faded spine, clipped panels, age-toning.
