Brilliant Fall Foliage Vintage Oil Painting Landscape Around Stream 1960's

Description: this is a large, bright & beautiful vintage oil painting on masonite board of a gorgeous fall landscape which depicts a tranquil stream surrounded by many stands of oak & maple trees as well as some pine trees in full fall foliage - the listed artist, May Williams of PA, used a palette of bold & bright orange, red, yellow, & beige colors to depict this amazing painting where the viewer is seeing the the vivid fall colors in all of their seasonal grandeur - the body of water is especially well-done in a realistic style where the reflections of the trees surrounding the water are as if we were there staring onto the surface of the stream - Williams also uses an impressionistic style to create depth & distance in the mid-background of the painting at the bend of the stream using a muted & subtle palette of yellows, oranges, & grays - the artist was artistically active in PA during the mid-20th century; & was a member of the American Federation of the Arts - she was taught her artistic skills as a student of the New York School of Arts, as well as the Chase School in New York which was founded by the very famous N.Y. artist William Merritt Chase - she also became an arts teacher doing workshops & lectures - her favorite medium was oil paint such as this beautiful fall foliage work of art - the vintage painting is in very good condition for its age, & measures 24" 16" sight size - it is greatly enhanced by its gilded gesso ornate Victorian-style wooden frame - the frame measures 27" x 19" x 5", & is in very good vintage condition -
