Description: PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION THOROUGHLY and LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS This sale is for a can motor flywheel upgrade kit for 0-6-0 to 2-8-0 size HO scale brass steam locomotives made or imported by PFM, Akane, Hallmark, Tenshodo, Key Imports, United, Balboa, Alco Models, KMT, Samhongsa, Sunset, and others. This motor kit is intended to replace the old-style open frame motor. This motor kit will provide better low speed operation, A LOWER TOP SPEED and reduced operating noise. This motor kit will only work in models that have a gearbox. If you have any questions regarding applications of this motor kit, please contact me before buying this kit. This may save you the hassle of returning the kit. I don't recommend using this kit in locomotives larger than a 2-8-0 If you need to repower a locomotive larger than a 2-8-0, please see my other auctions. I have a motor kit for large and articulated brass locomotives. Some brass diesel models such as Tenshodo use a single shaft motor. The motor measures 25mm long x 20mm high x 15mm wide, there are 2 mounting holes on the front of the motor spaced 13mm apart that can be tapped for 2mm screws. The motor shaft measures 10mm long and it is 2mm in diameter. There are 2 solder terminals on the rear of the motor for electrical connections. The flywheel measures 16mm in diameter and it is13 mm long and it is bored for a 2mm shaft. The flywheel shaft is 2mm in diameter and it is19mm long. I suggest that you measure the motor in your locomotive and compare it to the measurements listed here to see if this motor will fit in your locomotive before buying this kit. At 12 volts DC, this motor draws 50ma with no load and develops 7600 rpm, the stall current at 12 volts DC is 800ma. This motor is DCC compatible. This motor will start turning smoothly on 1 volt DC and it is very quiet when operating. The photo shows what the motor kit would look like installed on an HO scale United ATSF 2-8-0 chassis, or a Tenshodo USRA 0-8-0 chassis. PLEASE NOTE! The chassis that are shown in the photos are NOT included with the motor kit. The motor kit consists of 1 can motor, flywheel, flexible coupling, flywheel shaft, hook up wire, and installation instructions. See photo #3 for contents of the motor kit.
