Alfred Bernard Nobel was born in Stockholm in Sweden on October 21st, 1833. He carried the spirit of innovation in his genes, because his father also was Innovator (he invented plywood, and he was interested in using gunpowder). His father traveled a lot, so his family moved to St. Petersburg in Russia in 1842, where Alfred and his brothers had the best teachers. After returning to Sweden in 1859, Alfred started with studying of explosives, and especially nitroglycerin. On the basis of nitroglycerin he invented and patented dynamite. Thanks to his patent and tendency to business, he earned a fortune. He thought that his innovation will be very useful to the mankind, and then he was shocked the way it was used in the world. That was the main reason why he decided to donate his fortune to the Sweden and to establish the fund for honoring the men and women for outstanding achievements. First ceremony of awarding Nobel Prizes for literature, physics, chemistry and medicine was held at Royal Music Academy in Stockholm in 1901. Alfred Nobel had spoken several languages such as Russian, French, English and German, and he admired natural sciences and literature. He also developed literary skills and wrote the prose tragedy Nemesis that was inspired by true event.He died in San Remo, Italy on December 10th 1896.
