Good binding. 12mo. 216 pp. First edition. In later but early half morocco with corners and marbled paper over boards. This copy has an early manuscript printing of signature "I" (pp. 97-108). One might speculate that its exclusion was a printers or binders error rather than damage to the original copy. At any rate the content is present (though it has not been checked for accuracy) in early manuscript form. Binding is generally rubbed and scuffed and the front joint has a small crack in the leather and is starting to split, though the board is holding well; contents are clean. Binder's stamp of S. B. Adkins on the front free endpaper and interestingly Adkin's bookplate on the front pastedown. Adkins was a prominent bookbinder in Richmond in the 19th century. Remarkably uncommon in the trade.
