Description: Bird kit, Assisi/Pulled Thread Embroidery, designed and taught by Jane D. Zimmerman, 1977, started project with some notes from the previous owner 20 count mono white canvas measures 18" square. You can see how beautiful this design is and how nicely it has been stitched so far.The bird is outlined and remains unstitched in the finished design while the stitching all around it on the outside is cross stitched (this is the assisi part).The borders are a combination of pulled thread stitches, cross stitches, and more blackwork (double running/Holbein). Many of these stitches have been used to complete the part of this design stitched by the previous owner.It's unclear what all the colored wool yarn is for as the directions call for using the blue DMC and white linen fibers. Consider it a bonus as it was in the original package. Perhaps the previous owner was planning to do something inside the bird with it, we'll never know. What's done so far?
