These earrings were made for me by Rosa Rojo, a talented Mexican Silversmith who specializes in Pre-Columbian, Aztec, Mayan style jewelry. Rosa made these earrings for me about 15 years ago. These are for pierced ears in the French style of earring backing for added stability. They are entirely handmade and have the makers signature on the back. The snail, a symbol of the infinite universe. Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent. Or the birds such as the quetzaltototl. I depict all of these in the way our ancient Mexican ancestors did.
